Adriz Lugo
The first of many
We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our new projects in Downtown Dorado that building Adriz and her sons a brand new home. Adriz is a brave survivor of domestic abuse, fighting for a fresh start for her family.
Her youngest son, although unemployed, was willing and able to work, so we hired him. Jensen has been working with us for 4 months, building his mom’s home and serving neighbors in his community.
As a contribution to their own project, the family hosts our local volunteers once a month, making a meal for them, sharing their story and working with them.
Adriz’s home was beyond restoration. With her blessing we demolished the original structure to start from scratch.
We hired her youngest son, Jensen, as a full time Hunger employee. Not only is he working on his mom’s house, but is also able to provide for his family.
Construction is on track thanks to our team and amazing volunteers. Adriz will step into her new home in Q1, 2024.
